Introducing a new era for reality capture: The NavVis VLX

The laser scanning and reality capture market is constantly evolving and at Airscope we ensure we are working with the latest, high-quality capture hardware available.  With this in mind, we are proud to partner with NavVis whose mobile mapping system is a welcome addition to our solution stable as another method to capture our client’s reality.

NavVis provides reality capture through the NavVis VLX, a mobile mapping system for laser scanning helping to deliver high-quality capture of complex-built environments, capturing indoor and outdoor environments up to ten times faster than a traditional terrestrial laser scanning, making it one of the most productive scanners on the market.  By harnessing the power of this wearable device, Airscope can provide clients with a high-resolution digital replica of their remote assets at a fraction of the traditional capture cost.

Wearable, high-resolution laser scanning

This all-in-one reality capture device is wearable, and built with two multi-layer LiDAR sensors and four cameras which take high resolution images in every direction, allowing full 360 degree capture without the operator being in view.  Operators can move at their own pace and display control over the capture not possible with other traditional laser scanning equipment.

Watch Our Team in Action at the AOG Energy Expo: Experience the Results of NavVis Technology

At the AOG Energy Expo in Perth, the Airscope team demonstrated the effectiveness and accuracy of the NavVis VLX to conference participants. The team used the NavVis VLX to capture the busy expo floor in just 90 minutes – providing an excellent example of how we can help the oil and gas industry digitise their platforms.
